Top Entry Trunion Ball Valve
1. Product overview
Metals Valve supplies top entry trunnion ball valves in cast steel one piece body with trunnion mounted design, soft seated. The ball, seat rings and other trims shall be inserted into the valve cavity from the top first. Then, the bonnet, with the stem in place, is bolted to the valve body. Gaskets are employed to prevent leakage at the body-bonnet joint. A top entry trunnion ball valve can be conveniently maintained by removing the bonnet, without removing the valve from the pipeline. Compared to the split body side entry ball valves, it eliminates the possible leakage from body joints.
2. Design features and material selection for top entry trunnion ball valves
Top entry ball valves uses trunnion-mounted balls and spring-loaded seats, the ball has either integral or separate lower post that is seated in the bottom of the body. The seats are placed on both sides of the ball and the entire assembly is placed in the body. The top-works, consisting of a bonnet cap, packing box, gland flange, and separate stem, are installed above the ball. When the bonnet-cap bolting is tightened, the resulting compression energizes the seats. The joint between the bonnet cap and the body is sealed using gaskets.
Design standards: API 6D, ISO 17292 ASME B16.34; Fire safe to API 607, API 6FA, ISO 10497; End connection: ASME B16.5, ASME B16.25, ASME B16.11; Inspection and test: API 598, API 6D, EN 12266-1. The top entry trunnion ball valve is generally designed to full port(FB), 1 piece unibody, lever/gear or actuator operated. Size range: 1-1/2″ ~ 24″; Pressure ratings: 150LB~2500LB. Serial Number: TETMBV26. See the dimensional & weight specifications of TETMBV26.
Design Features
(1) Double O-rings seals to prevent leakage from stem- bonnet joint.
(2) T-shaped blow-out proof stem design.
(3) Fire safe metal to metal design for emergency seals once soft seating materials are disintegrated after fire.
(4) The one piece integral body has improved mechanical properties.
(5) Gasket & O-ring combined arrangement to prevent leakage from body joints.
(6) The seat is spring-energized to ensure low-pressure tightness.
(7) Sealant injection fittings to prevent seat leakage in case the internal sealing fails.
